Basic Marksman
You bought the rifle. Nobody taught you to shoot it.
Basic Marksman is straight up marksmanship training for regular guys. Zero your AR. Clean your bolt gun. Hit what you aim at. No mall ninja stuff, no gear worship, no gatekeeping.
Sound familiar?
Millions of people bought an AR or a hunting rifle in the last few years and then hit a wall. The manual tells you nothing. YouTube is a swamp of contradicting advice, guys arguing in comments, and channels that exist to sell you a $2,000 scope you do not need.
So the rifle sits in the safe. Or you go to the range, blast a box of ammo at a target, hit sometimes, miss sometimes, and have no idea why either happened.
That is not a you problem. Nobody taught you. That is the whole gap Basic Marksman exists to fill.
The stuff that actually matters in your first 500 rounds
- ■Zero your rifle and trust it. AR with a red dot, bolt gun with a scope, does not matter. You will know exactly where it hits and why.
- ■Clean and maintain it without wrecking anything. What actually needs oil, what does not, and how often. It is less than you think.
- ■The fundamentals that fix 90% of misses. Position, trigger press, follow through. Boring, simple, and the entire reason some guys hit and some guys do not.
- ■Dry fire at home. Ten minutes on your living room floor is worth more than a box of ammo shot wrong. You will get a routine.
- ■Buy gear once. What is worth money, what is marketing, and the order to buy things in so you stop lighting cash on fire.
- ■Get ready for your first hunt or first local match. When you want more, you will have a path instead of a guess.
Not a retired sniper selling you mystique
I am an active competitor. I shoot precision rifle matches in PRS and NRL Hunter formats and I place against stacked local fields across multiple divisions. I hunt hard country with the same skills I teach. I am at the range doing this stuff every week, not telling stories about what I did fifteen years ago.
Why does that matter to you? Because current, practical, tested beats old war stories every time. Everything I teach is what I actually do to put rounds where I want them, stripped down to what a new shooter needs first.

FAQ
- Do I need any experience?
- No. This literally starts at zero. If you have never fired the rifle you bought, you are exactly who this is for.
- What rifle do I need?
- Whatever you own. AR, bolt action hunting rifle, rimfire, does not matter. The fundamentals are the fundamentals.
- Is this tactical training?
- No. This is marksmanship. Safe handling, zeroing, fundamentals, maintenance, and hitting what you aim at. No door kicking.
- Do you do in person training?
- In person range days are coming. Get on the email list and you will be first to know.
- I have been shooting for years. Is this for me?
- If you have never been formally taught, probably yes. Most self taught shooters have one or two habits quietly costing them accuracy. No shame in it, everyone starts somewhere.
